We, Indians are the giants in field of IT and the Department of Computer Engineering at Karaikal Polytechnic College, Karaikal is proud to play its role in creating Software & Hardware Technocrats to serve the growing needs of the country in the field of Computer Engineering.
The Department of Computer Engineering (then Computer Technology) at Karaikal Polytechnic College (then Karaikal Polytechnic), Karaikal was established from the very inception of the College at 1988 – 89. Approved by AICTE and affiliated to Directorate of Technical Education, Chennai, the Department offers Diploma in Computer Engineering. Initially, the annual intake was 40 and was enhanced to 60 in the year 2006-2007.
The Department is equipped with well qualified and experienced Teaching Staff, Supporting Staff and Lab infrastructure as per AICTE norms. The Department conducts National Level Technical Symposium called Scintillate with various events such as Paper Presentation, Technical Quiz, Code Debugging to provide opportunities for Polytechnic Students to enhance and exhibit their technical skills. The Department also organizes Guest Lectures, Seminars, Workshops, Industrial visits at regular intervals for the benefit of Students and Staff. The Department Library provides useful resources to students with Text Books on 410 volumes, Question banks and Project Reports. Educational Tour is organized for the final year Students to give an exposure of Industry environment. The Department has the privilege of getting regular funds from AICTE for up-gradation of infra-structure under MODROBS scheme. Students get placed at reputed Organizations in the Campus Interview organized by the Training & Placement Cell of the Institution during their final year of the Course. Students with good academic records pursue higher studies (B.E / B.Tech) under lateral entry scheme through CENTAC Engineering Admissions, Puducherry.
