Training and Placement Centre in our Polytechnic is functioning in a successful way with its Training and Placement officer Mr. J.JAYAPRAKASH, Quality Assurance Cell Convenor Mr.D.Sivakumar, Career Guidance and Counselling Officer Mr.K. Padmaraj and with eminent Co-ordinators from each Department namely Mr. N. Boopathy from Civil Engineering, Mr. D.Thirumurugan from Mechanical Engineering, Mr.Gopalakrishnan @ Sunil Kumar from Electronics & Communication Engineering,Mrs. P.Uthayasangeetha from Computer Engineering Mrs.S.Savithri from Information Technology, and Mr. V.Mehanathan from Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
As part of the Training and Placement Centre activity In plant training was offered to all the students of III Year during the vacation. The activity started with the counseling of students of III Year in all branches. Willingness from the students and their choice for the industry they prefer was also identified. A detailed list was prepared branch wise and industry wise. A T&P Centre meeting was held and detailed planning for visit to various industries in and around Karaikal & Puducherry was sorted out. With the help of the office of the Principal Karaikal Polytechnic and the office of the PIPMATE, the visit was executed positively. The industries & consultancies were requested to consider our students for In plant Training during the vacation and excellent positive response was shown by them. The students were divided into batches and were sent to various Industries and consultancies. The students were offered the same Industry they preferred. The T & P Centre takes pride in organizing an In plant Training of this kind in an elaborate manner to all the students of III Year for the first time in our Polytechnic. The In plant training offered the students to interact more with the industries and also helped them in understanding the industry’s needs in the areas of design, manufacturing and marketing segments.

The T&P Centre started the activities for the current year with the counseling of students passed out from the academic year, Collection of their Bio data and guiding them to attend Interviews. The T&P Centre visited various Industries regarding campus interview. The Placement Brochures were handed over to Industries and discussions were held with the respective personnel & Administrative Managers regarding Placement & Training for our students.
The brief statement of the various activities of T&P Centre and Career Guidance and Counselling for the year 2012-2013 as follows:-

- Various training programmes in the areas of PLC, Micro controller and Computer based training were Co-ordinated with the Departments.
